Mary's Cards Through the Years, Page 2

"Girl Holding Basket," 2003
For this illustration, Mary wanted to capture the look of the 1920s
children’s books she loves. She used cream-colored paper,
rather than standard white, to add to that feel.

"For You Sunshine," 2003
Mary normally creates her illustrations using both markers
and colored pencils. In the past few years, though,
she has enjoyed experimenting with using only colored pencils
on textured paper, which helped her achieve the soft, friendly look
she wanted for this drawing.

"Shelter," 2006
Mary has a close circle of friends who provide her with
constant inspiration. She had just returned from a trip to
Florida when she drew this new image.

"The Winds Of Grace," 2006
This is one of Mary’s all-time favorite quotes and a personal
motto. It is one of the new “bookmark cards,” so the recipient
can continue to be inspired by the quote long after they
receive the card.

"Seahorse," 2006
Mary’s collection of seahorses inspired this illustration.
She loves the glitter detailing on this brand new card.

"Silent Night," 2006
Here’s a sneak peek at one of Mary’s new 2006 Christmas cards
(that’s right, she’s already finished with Christmas!)
For this illustration, she wanted to create a really cozy cottage
all decked out for the holidays.
