A Mother's Day note from Mary

Being a mother has been a life-changing, priceless privilege in so many ways. The rich experiences I've had as a mother infuse my art with more heart than the mythical creatures I once drew, and I will never grow tired of depicting motherhood in my art.

Cherished childhood memories of my own mother have also found their way into my art. The diatribe spouted by the mother in my "Good Old Mom" drawing is actually a direct quote from the pep talk my mother delivered countless times during my "formative" years.

For all the mothers in the world, especially my own good old mom ...
