Book Garden

What flowers would your characters grow in a garden? What vegetables? Would they plant trees or berries? Would they grow catnip for cats or carrots for horses?

Here’s How:

Design a book garden. First, discuss what you’ll grow, based on your characters’ interests and personalities. Then nail together a square made of 4′ x 1′ x 2″ untreated planks. Place the square in a sunny area and fill it with garden soil. Divide the plot into 16 square feet.

Now, plant vegetables, flowers, herbs, and fruit. You may choose to label each square with a decorative sign. Perhaps you’ll choose to build an even larger classroom garden with stone walkways and a sprinkler system. What would your characters prefer?
